No Titanfall for South Africa due to poor network performance

Titanfall

One of the most highly anticipated first person shooter game for Xbox and PC will not be available in South Africa, according to Electronic Arts South Africa. The developer mentions the performance of the game was not as high as it should be due to poor network performance, so they’ve decided Titanfall will not make its way to South Africa when it launches later this year.

“After conducting recent online tests for Titanfall, we found that the performance rates in South Africa were not as high as we need to guarantee a great experience, so we have decided not to release Titanfall in South Africa at this time,” Electronic Arts South Africa said on Facebook.

They further said, “We understand this is a disappointment for local fans and will keep fans posted on any future plans regarding the release of Titanfall in South Africa.” Respawn’s Vince Zampella also responded to one of the disappointed Twitter users about this decision and said, “performance wasn’t as good in the area as we would like, don’t want to sell you something that isn’t great.”

This should come as a disappointing news for all those who invested in the Xbox One, and wanted to get the taste of how good this game really is. But, let’s just think positive, and hope EA will change their mind, and offer the game for those residing in South Africa.

As far as the launch date is concerned, the game will launch in the UK on March 14th, while those of you residing in North America will be able to get their hands on it on March 11th. Titanfall will also launch on March 13th in Europe and Australia, and will hit PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
