Nintendo’s rumored release slate keeps expanding, and a fresh leak now adds two familiar names to the mix, as reports suggest a Super Metroid remake and a new Wario Land game may join the company’s upcoming lineup alongside several already rumored titles for the next generation of Switch hardware.
According to leaker Nate the Hate, Nintendo plans to kick things off with a new classic-style Star Fox game expected to arrive in June, while Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Splatoon Raiders, Rhythm Heaven, and a new Switch Sports title should follow through Summer 2026, with a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time targeting a late 2026 release window and a new 3D Mario reportedly set for 2027.
However, a separate anonymous source on Reddit claimed to have shared a similar list before Nate’s podcast aired, and added more titles that immediately caught attention, especially for long-time fans waiting for dormant franchises to return.
“A classic Starfox is coming in June, the adventure one is still coming but not in 2026. Super Metroid is also close, along with a new Switch Sports, a Wario Land title (possibly 2027), and Ocarina of Time remake for this year. I would love to also see 3D Mario this year, but I fear 2027 is the year to go.” — Anonymous Reddit user
That mention of “Super Metroid is also close” lines up with earlier rumors that Nintendo has been working on a remake of the 1994 SNES classic for years, although the long gap since those reports leaves questions about whether this refers to the same project or a newer version that has taken shape more recently.
At the same time, the reference to a new Wario Land stands out because the series has remained inactive for over a decade, with the last entry, Wario Land: Shake It!, launching in 2008, while Nintendo has since focused on WarioWare titles instead of bringing back the platforming spin-off.
These details build on the broader leak and give a clearer sense of how Nintendo may balance new entries with legacy revivals, although none of these projects carry official confirmation, and the full lineup will only become clear once Nintendo decides to share its plans publicly.
