Xbox Insiders have been able to experiment with the new Xbox Avatars within the Avatar app for a while now but it now looks like those enrolled in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring will be able to experience them properly within the Xbox One dashboard starting today.

The news came via a tweet from Xbox’s Larry Hryb who said, “Attention Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring: the new Avatars have moved beyond the Avatar Editor app, and will now show up across the Xbox One dashboard starting later today.”

Microsoft has been working on these new Avatars for well over a year now and their official launch on Xbox One consoles has taken much longer than anticipated. With more and more testing of them being done with Xbox Insiders though, it seems as if they may be coming sooner rather than later.
