Microsoft announced this morning that the long-awaited return of Xbox Achievements to the iPhone and Android Xbox apps would be beginning today and it looks like the added functionality has finally begun to roll out to users.
However, while the new app updates for both Android and iOS devices should now be available for everyone, the individual features themselves are being activated in stages.
For example, I’m currently able to see my Xbox Achievement progress on my user profile and on the profile of video games I’ve played, but the Friends Leaderboard, which will eventually appear on my profile, has yet to go live.
The return of Xbox Achievements to the Xbox mobile apps was first mentioned last month by Xbox Social Media Manager, Josh Stein, via his personal Twitter account. Stein also tweeted today about the rollout of the new support for Achievements and the new Suspend Game feature.
Some cool updates to Achievements on the app dropped today PLUS a great quality of life feature to help speed up game downloads – suspend a game! https://t.co/DLZKozKql9
