A couple of weeks ago, Microsoft started testing a new Timeline feature inside the Windows 10 Photos app with select Insiders. This new feature introduces a much more useful scroll bar that you can use to quickly get to certain photos in chronological order by month and by year.
After doing some A/B testing with Insiders, Microsoft has apparently started to roll out this feature to everyone this week. As of this writing, we’re seeing it on all of our production machines running the April 2018 update. You should also see it if you’re running the latest Redstone 5 Insider builds.
Looks like Microsoft Photos is rolling out the Timeline feature for your image collection. This showed up several weeks ago and then kind of disappeared without any word. This is on a production device running Windows 10 Version 1803. H/T to @ViktorKalmar1 pic.twitter.com/9ChPwdy7E4

This is really great addition that makes it much easier to navigate a massive photo collection. This is probably something that Microsoft should have added a long time ago, and we’re glad to see the company finally covering the basics. What are the other improvements you would like to see in the Windows 10 Photos app? Let us know below.
