Microsoft has started rolling out a new firmware update to the Surface Pro 5 and 6 devices this week. As is the case with most firmware updates, this new update has no new features or changes.

The new Surface UEFI firmware (235.3440.768.0) brings security and stability improvements for fifth-generation Surface Pro models. The sixth-generation Surface Pro devices are also getting similar treatment, and the changelog is identical for the Surface Pro 6 owners. However, the only difference is that the firmware update comes with version 235.3440.768.0.

In case you missed it, Microsoft released new firmware updates for a couple of other Surface devices this month. The list includes Surface Pro 7, Surface Pro 7 +, and Intel-based Surface Laptop 3. We invite you to check our previous posts for more details about these updates.
