New report shows Windows 11 could be popular, but TPM is a problem – onmsft.com

Windows 11 is nearing the final stages of testing before an expected Fall release, but how will it perform in the marketplace? Certainly initial interest has been high, but restrictive security requirements, the need for updated training tools and materials, and no “killer” apps or updates aside from a still inconsistent refreshed look all contribute to an uncertain future for the latest version of Windows.

So just how popular will Windows 11 be with consumers? We don’t have any hard evidence, but our colleagues over at WindowsReport.com have just released the results of their 3 week survey, which gathered answers from some 11,000 readers from 177 countries (including 22% from the US). The large majority of respondents are Windows 10 users (almost 90%), with Windows 7 users coming in second at 7%

While over half (53%) of respondents think Windows 11 “looks amazing! Can’t wait to install it,”
