New Office 2016 desktop build leaks onto the web with new 'color' feature

Microsoft is reportedly working on the next version of their Office productivity suite known as Office 16. The software giant is conducting a technical preview of Office 16 privately, and we’ve seen a number of leaked screenshots and features which are expected to be a part of it.

Recently, a new build of the upcoming Office 16 has made its way onto the internet. The leaked build comes with a 16.0.3823.1005 version number, but before you get too excited, it doesn’t bring any new features or exciting changes except a few.

One of them is a feature called “colorful” which is a new theme that changes the color based on the application being used. Furthermore, the screenshots also shows Microsoft Limestone Integration, also known as Microsoft Lime, which is apparently a development tool to test different elements in the productivity suite so it may not be an interesting feature for a casual Office user.

The new suite is expected to see the light of the day in the latter half of 2015, but there’s no word from Microsoft about an exact launch date. We’ll update you as soon as we get to hear anything more about the upcoming Office 16, stay tuned to WinBeta.
