New in Windows 10 Insider Preview build 16273: View Mixed Reality

It’s been a full three weeks since Windows Insiders have last had a Fast Ring build, but the Windows Insider team finally obliged today, releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview build 16273 to those in the Fast Ring and those opted into Skip Ahead. As always, these builds bring some new features, and new this week to Insiders with build 16273 in Skip Ahead is View Mixed Reality.

The View Mixed Reality feature is currently only available today for Windows Insiders in Skip Ahead and is best used on a device with a world facing camera. Any camera, though, can be used to view the 3D models in mixed reality, but a Surface device will bring the best experience.

Here is what Dona Sarkar is saying about the feature:

With this update, you will be able to bring your 3D content right in to your real world to spark brand new forms of expression. Take your own 3D models or those from Remix3D.com and bring them into your space with View Mixed Reality. Anyone flighting View 3D with View Mixed Reality enabled will now have the ability to take any creation from Paint 3D and see it come to life. Quick loops between the apps allow you to refine and tweak your model helping you capture the ultimate moment…This update offers an integrated Remix experience, our native implementation allows users a single tap function to bring 3D models into View 3D.

With View Mixed Reality you will also be able to capture high-resolution images and enjoy an experience to bring your best creativity and your imagination. Let us know if you’ve tried out this feature by dropping us a comment in the section below.
