New firmware updates are available for Surface Pro 5 and 6 devices

Surface Pro 6

The Surface Pro (5th generation) and Surface Pro 6 have both received a firmware update, which includes stability improvements to improve the overall experience (via Windows Central). Microsoft didn’t define what instabilities were fixed, only listing a single bullet in the changelog:

  • 5.2.139.0 improves system stability.

System improvements are definitely welcomed, especially given the ongoing issues that have been plaguing the devices, particularly those causing excessive battery drain. It’s unlikely that these issues were addressed in the update since they didn’t receive a mention, but hopefully a resolution will be provided to users soon.

Be sure to download the update and let us know in the comments how it works for you.
