New Cortana button by Satechi brings quick access Cortana

One of the more interesting and useful features of Microsoft’s virtual assistant Cortana is that you can activate here with your voice without touching your phone or laptop. A quick and simple “Hey Cortana” brings the digital assistant to life from your smartphone or PC. However, there are times when voice activation isn’t an option, chiefly when your device is hidden away in a purse, laptop bag, pocket or car tray. Fortunately, companies are beginning to think outside the box.

Created by Satechi, this ‘Cortana Button’ lets you activate Cortana from your Bluetooth-enabled PC or phone with the simple touch of a button. It’s a small enough device that fits in the palm of your hand and has a built-in CR2016 coin cell battery which should last for approximately two years.

According to Satechi, “The Satechi BT Cortana Button makes your Windows devices even more accessible with a single press of a button. Attach the button to your keychain, steering wheel, or dashboard to safely and conveniently access your smartphone or tablet when it’s out of reach. Access your device even while it’s in your pocket, purse, from the couch, and more!”

The device should ship sometime in late August for around an affordable $23 (US). It will be available on Amazon as well as Satechi’s website.
