Payforit, the payment service designed to make it easy to pay for low cost services with your mobile phone, has today introduced a new website. The consumer facing website has been developed to be an industry wide tool to promote and provide guidance on the service.

With increased demand for the service, the new website, which is being supported by the industry body AIME, will provide more information for consumers who wish to use Payforit to purchase goods or services. Consumers will be given the opportunity to review recent purchases made through Payforit, while content owners will be given advice on the best way to use the service.

Supported by all licensed UK mobile operators, the mobile purchasing solution Payforit enables consumers to buy goods and services online using their mobile handset. The cost is then added to the customers’ mobile contract or taken from the available credit for Pay As You Go (PAYG) consumers. As it is accessible to anyone owning a mobile handset, coupled with the fact it is quick and simple to use, Payforit has become an extremely popular method for mobile purchasing.

On top of that, as only official Payforit intermediaries are allowed to operate the scheme, consumers can be sure of the credibility of the service.

AIME, the Association for Interactive Media and Entertainment, has long been a supporter of the Payforit technology. As the “longest serving trade body in the interactive media business”, the Association conducted an industry research study on Payforit way back in 2007.

“Payforit offers an excellent way for retailers to use mobile payments to sell goods and services and is a seamless process for consumers,” said Toby Padgham, AIME General Secretary. “The service is well-proven, but not yet well-promoted. We hope that this new site, that provides more information and reassurance for consumers, will be the first step to increase the awareness of Payforit.”

With more content owners choosing to opt for this mobile purchasing solution, the sector will be constantly kept up to date as to advancements in the industry through the website’s news feed. With the website created and maintained by ImpulsePay on behalf of the Payforit community, Payforit.info will exist to promote, uphold and expand the service.

“We created the website as a go-to point for consumers,” said Paul Paterson, Operations Director at ImpulsePay. “The ability to review purchases is great for consumers who are constantly purchasing through their mobile. Indeed, the website will act as a full resource for information by also keeping everyone updated on developments made by the operators who created the service.”
