Microsoft has just rolled out the new and modern design for SkyDrive.com, which we saw coming when we got a look at the new Outlook.com. Microsoft has also updated the SkyDrive desktop app to feature several new improvements and performance tweaks.

The new SkyDrive.com features a Modern design (formerly called Metro) and features instant search (including the content of Office documents), contextual toolbar, thumbnail multi-select, drag-and-drop organization, and HTML5 sorting. Microsoft is rolling out this new update over the next 24 hours. The SkyDrive for Windows app will see faster uploads for people around the world and tons of bug and performance improvements under the hood. Expect to see this update within the next week. Microsoft is also launching an official SkyDrive app for Android in the next few weeks.
