More than 2.2 million Windows App Studio users now have Twitter and Instagram OAuth integration

Earlier this year, Microsoft launched Windows Phone App Studio Beta, a tool that allows you to create an app for Windows Phone without having any development experience. Microsoft re-launched the tool as Windows App Studio Beta during the month of May, allowing you to create Windows apps as well.

Now, the company has revealed that more than 2.2 million users around the world are using Windows App Studio to build their own apps. Microsoft has also announced the addition of Twitter and Instagram OAuth integration. Here is what the company had to say:

“More than 2.2 million users around the world have used Windows App Studio to quickly build apps for any phone, tablet, or PC running Windows 8.1. Today App Studio added the much-anticipated Twitter Data Source via OAuth integration. Along with this milestone addition, we have updated the Instagram Data Source, allowing you to authenticate using the OAuth protocol adding new search capabilities.”

The integration allows you to show your own Twitter user account timeline, another user’s timeline, or display a hashtag’s search results. You can also display an Instagram user feed, as well as hashtag searches. These new features will allow you to further customize and personalize your app creation with social media integration. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
