Mobile recharge and bill payment app MobiKwik update adds support for cash

There are numerous mobile payment tools to choose from these days, and MobiKwik has proved to be incredibly popular in India. The latest update to the app adds support for cash. This might sound a little odd for a virtual payment system, but bear with us…

If you are unable to add money to your online account by other means, you can now opt to do so using cash. Simply indicate the amount of money you would like to credit to your account and the cash will be collected from your front door and added to your balance within a few hours.

It’s an interesting concept and is one that is sure to be welcomed by people who are still dealing in cold, hard currency most of the time.

The app can be used to pay for all manner of utilities such as gas and electricity, as well as life insurance, satellite TV, mobile bills and more.

The move to MobiKwik 1.1 also sees a few other improvements:

  • Cash Pay! Now you can also add money to your MobiKwik wallet by paying cash at your doorsteps
  • FAQs in Help section
  • UX improvements
  • Lots of bug fixes and stability improvements

Give it a try and see what you think.
