After launching on the official iOS and Android Mixer apps just over a week ago, Embers are finally live on Xbox One consoles and the web version of the Mixer streaming service.

Embers are a new kind of digital currency that users on Mixer need to buy with real-world money. After purchasing Embers, users can use them to buy animated emotes or colorful text messages to use in chat rooms while watching streamers on the Mixer platform. Streamers earn money when Embers are used within their channel’s chat room.

Mixer streamers can also earn money on the platform through paid subscriptions (similar to Twitch) and by reaching Spark milestones. Sparks are another form of currency on Mixer but, unlike Embers, can be earned by streaming or watching someone else stream. Sparks are typically used to activate static emotes or gifs in chat rooms.
