Minecraft is doing its part to help spread the word to help stop the spread of coronavirus pandemic. In a post on their blog, developer Mojang announced a partnership with the United Nations with a new campaign aiming to remind people to follow the World Health Organization’s (WHO) global message to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

Wash your hands like you’ve just touched a slime! Take your time, and use alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water. Don’t forget to sanitize your phone + keyboard to kill any nasties that have set up camp there, too! #BlockCovid19 #TomorrowTogether

“At Mojang, we find that distributing factual information is incredibly important, as that information will help people make informed decisions, which in turn may save lives. One thing we’re doing to help is teaming up with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and their partner, Heart17. Over the next week or so, we are devoting space in all of our social channels to important health advice derived from the World Health Organization’s (WHO) recommendations. Together, we’ll spread the word under the banner of #TomorrowTogether,” Mojang said today

The team stated that they will use Minecraft Creepers on their social media pages to promote the use of hand-washing and cleaning of your electronic devices to stop the spread of coronavirus. However, the Creeper’s mission in Minecraft remains the same: “they still want nothing more than to get cozy with you and proceed to blow up.”

What else do you think can be done to help remind people about washing their hands to stop the spread of COVID-19? Let us know in the comments.
