Mid-year reflections and a small giveaway for our readers

Bringing the latest Microsoft news to you is our passion, but we’d like to take a short time out of the busy news day to say thanks to our readers. We don’t say this enough but we do sincerely appreciate our readers. We’re halfways though the 2014 year and i’d like to take this time to reflect on the past six months.

Our community has grown quite a bit over the past six months. In fact, our top commenter is StarEy3, with Aaditya Menon and Ray C following close behind. Keep it up guys! Our traffic rank has shot up over the past few months and we expect our community to continue growing, as people are turning to WinBeta for their news-fix. Don’t be surprised if you see new faces in the comments section!

One of our readers, dingl_, is kind enough to give away a $15 Windows Store gift card to one lucky winner. In order to qualify for this gift card, which you can use to purchase apps or games on Windows or Windows Phone, simply leave a comment below. Tell us which app you plan on purchasing, post a picture of your Windows device, or tell us what you love about our site! Guest comments will not qualify for the giveaway. We will select one winner in three days (June 15th). Good luck!

Our news coverage has expanded from just Microsoft news, to Windows 8/Windows Phone app news, and now we’ve added gaming news into the mix. These news stories fall under the Microsoft umbrella, as we hope you utilize us for your primary source of Microsoft news. Unlike some sites that simply copy/paste press releases, we actually take the time and effort to bring you clear, concise, and to-the-point articles.

We’re also planning on making some minor tweaks to the site over the next few months, to help improve the page load time. If you have any suggestions for improving the site, let us know! In fact, personally send me an email and I will read it!

If you didn’t already know, we are on social media. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ to stay updated on any breaking Microsoft news. If you already follow us, thank you! If you have yet to follow us, use the social media follow buttons below! We’d appreciate it if you did 🙂 If you find our stories to be interesting or share worthy, please share them to social media sites like Facebook and Reddit. Help us grow our community!

Thanks again for reading and being a part of this community. Remember, the giveaway ends June 15th. Comments that do not follow the guidelines listed above will be disqualified or treated as non-entries. Now back to the news.
