Microsoft is getting ready to launch its next-gen Xbox Series X|S consoles in China next month. The company announced yesterday that both consoles will start shipping in the country on June 10, with pre-orders to open on May 19.

The flagship Xbox Series X will be priced at ¥3899 ($605.71), and the less powerful Series S will be priced at ¥2399 ($372.68). That’s slightly more expensive than the $499 and $299 US launch prices for the two consoles, which still remain very hard to find six months after launch.

Sony’s next-gen console will precede Microsoft’s Xbox Series X|S in China, as the PlayStation 5 will be launching in the country tomorrow, May 15. China isn’t really a big market for video games consoles, and Microsoft’s Xbox One was the first Xbox console to be released in the country. Still, it’s important for both Xbox and PlayStation to have a presence in the country, which is now the home of powerful video game companies such as the conglomerate Tencent.
