File Manager Windows Phone

Earlier this month, Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore did an AMA on Reddit where he answered a lot of important questions related to Windows Phone operating system. One of them was about the official File Manager for Windows Phone devices, which he said will arrive by the end of May. May is about to end, but the app is nowhere in sight. But, don’t worry, in response to a query on Windows Phone Uservoice feedback website, a Windows Phone admin replied that it will hit the Windows Phone store in June, and will be dubbed as Files.

“In June, we will be launching a great file manager app for Windows Phone 8.1 called “Files” … just look for it in the Store then,” one of the admins said in response to a question on Windows Phone Uservoice.

During the AMA, Joe Belfiore also posted some screenshots of the app, giving it mode credence that it is definately in the works. Microsoft does care about their users, and have started to close in Windows Phone feature gap with rival operating systems. With the new File Manager for Windows Phone 8.1, users will be able to manage SD card content, manage storage space, create new folders, move files to SD card and much more.

The good thing is that it’s coming. We’ll update you as soon as it comes to the Windows Phone Store.

Thanks Anon for the tip!!!!
