Microsoft’s Surface Pro Launch Event In New York City Cancelled Due To Blizzard – onmsft.com

Surface Pro

Thanks to a blizzard warning for New York City on February 9th, Microsoft has decided to cancel the special launch event for the Surface Pro. Microsoft was originally planning on holding a private event for selected guests prior to holding the formal launch party at a BestBuy retail store in Union Square on February 8th around midnight.

Apparently, that area is expected to see a foot of snow thanks to a blizzard. “Surface Pro launch activities in NYC have been cancelled due to weather; our best wishes for everyone impacted by the blizzard,” Microsoft stated in an official statement. No word yet if Microsoft will hold another special launch event elsewhere, but one thing is for certain, the Surface Pro hits shelves February 9th and you can grab it at a Microsoft Store, BestBuy, or Staples.
