Just recently, we learned that the Surface Pro would be released in January with two models ranging from a 64GB model priced at $899, and a 128GB model priced at $999. While the Surface Pro will have some hardcore specs, such as an Intel Core i5 processor and a 1920×1080 full HD resolution, Microsoft has confirmed that the Surface Pro will have half the battery life of the Surface RT.

According to Panos Panay, General Manager of Microsoft Surface, the upcoming Surface Pro will have “approximately half the battery life of Surface RT.” Panay revealed this tidbit via his Twitter account earlier today, when it was announced that the Surface Pro would arrive in January. In our review of the Surface RT, we noticed a long battery life when using the Surface RT, so it gives us hope that the Surface Pro will have a semi-decent battery life as well. Looks like we will just have to wait on benchmarks once the device becomes available.
