Microsoft’s Surface app updates for Windows 11, 10, and 8.1 devices with new improvements – onmsft.com

The official Surface app updated this week for devices running Windows 8.1, Windows 10, and Windows 11.

This latest app update added support for 36 languages and smart charging in addition to making some minor design refinements to improve the user experience.

Here’s the full release notes:

In the October 2021 update to the Surface app, we’ve added several new features and improvements for our users:

  1. An updated user experience that complements the premium hardware experience for Surface
  2. Support for Surface accessories, including Surface audio devices, pen, and docks
  3. Support for features, like Smart charging, on devices that support it
  4. New promotions for eligible Surface devices
  5. Support for 36 languages

The Surface app is a bit of an unusual Windows app as it’s apparently designed to assist in the management of Microsoft Surface devices but very few settings and options actually exist within it. It’s honestly not uncommon for a Surface owner to use their device for a year or so before even becoming aware that the app exists.

Do you ever use the Surface app on your Windows device? Let us know why or why not in the comments below and then follow us on Pinterest and Twitter for more Windows app content.
