Microsoft So.cl, which launched back in 2011 as an experimental social networking site, is receiving four new “creation experiences” as part of an update today. One of those “creation experiences” involves the ability to create animated GIFs.

\

The first new experience involves integration with the BLINK app for Windows Phone 8, allowing users to upload images to the social networking site. The latest version of BLINK allows users to transform a burst of images into a flipbook of images. So.cl users can also create animated GIFs for sharing using Blink Cliplets. Users can also generate memes using Picotale, which is an updated version of the social networking site’s collage-creation tool. There is also a curated video-party tool.

\

You can check out the new features below, which Microsoft has highlighted in a short video. So.cl received its last update this past March of 2013, adding better post creation tools and a much more organized navigation bar.
