“But one of the biggest changes is one we reached today – when 40 million concurrent users were signed onto Skype all at once. This is a massive new milestone for a simple piece of software that helps make meaningful connections a cool part of people’s lives every single day,” Microsoft stated on the official Skype blog. This is truly an amazing milestone for Skype. Skype is one of the the most popular platforms for real-time video chat communication and is used across a variety of platforms. Microsoft is now able to gain a strong foothold in the market and integration across Microsoft’s wide array of products should only spearhead continued growth for Skype.
