Microsoft’s new all-in-one Office mobile app that the company released in public preview in November is now available for all Android users, Android Police is reporting today. Until now, the app has been available through the Google Play Beta store, as well as Apple’s Testflight program on iOS.
This new all-in-one app is reminiscent of the previous Office mobile apps that Microsoft released for iOS and Android years ago. This was at a time where Windows Phone users had a similar pre-loaded Office Hub, and before Microsoft released standalone Word, Excel, and Powerpoint apps on iOS and Android.
However, the new all-in-one Office app is more feature complete. In addition to offering Word, Excel, and Powerpoint functionality, there are also integrations with Office Lens and Sticky Notes. Moreover, there are new features designed to help you create content from your phone, such as the ability to transform a picture of a table into an Excel spreadsheet.
The Android app is currently not optimized for tablets, but Microsoft said back in November that it was working on it. The iOS version of this new Office mobile app is also not available on Apple’s App Store yet, but it’s likely coming very soon.
