Microsoft's Movie Moments and Video apps for Windows 8.1 receive new updates

Microsoft has rolled out an update to the Movie Moments app and the Video app for Windows 8.1. For those that did not know, the Movie Moments app is a fantastic tool that can turn any video in a memorable and sharable moment.

“Turn any video into a memorable moment you’ll love to share. With this app, you can trim your video to your favorite parts, highlight key moments with captions and effects, and set the mood with music,” the app description reads. Here are the key features of this app:

  • Pick your favorite 60 seconds. You can trim from the beginning, middle, or end.
  • Highlight your favorite moments with fun, colorful captions in a range of styles.
  • Add music that matches the moment. We’ve included a few songs for different moods, or you can use songs from your collection.
  • When your movie is exactly how you want it, share it with family and friends right from the app.

The video app also received an update, however no details were given. The app description does state that this is a “preview edition of Video” so perhaps there are new improvements on board. “With this preview edition of Video, you can buy, rent, and watch just-released movies and TV shows in HD. Immerse yourself in show details and video trailers while you shop, and share the things you love,” the app description reads.

Typical with most Microsoft app updates, a change log is no where to be found. You can grab both updates via the download link below and please let everyone know what new features or improvements you notice in the comments below! Enjoy!
