Mix Party

For those of you in the United States, the 4th of July is a big deal. Its the day we declared independence from Great Britain. Microsoft’s Internet Explorer team has announced a partnership with Nokia Music to bring those celebrating the 4th of July a “Mix Party.”

“The Internet Explorer team has partnered with Nokia Music to bring you Mix Party. It’s a companion web experience, where multiple people at your party can sync their smartphone to the party playlist and vote on the tracks they want to hear next,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.

In order for this to work, simply turn on your Xbox, launch Internet Explorer, and visit mixparty.nokia.com. Then select three artists and begin your party playlist. Those at your party can scan the QR code using their smartphone and sync with the playlist. They can also vote on the artist they want to hear next and the tract with the most votes wins.

“So this holiday, celebrate your independence by exercising your freedom to listen to music that you want to hear. Power up Nokia Music Mix Party, and remember, there’s nothing more American than telling someone with your vote their song selection could be improved,” Microsoft adds.
