Microsoft's first original TV series to air on Xbox starting June 15

Microsoft is all set to air its first ever original TV series on the Xbox entertainment console. On June 15th, the company will release Every Street United on Xbox. The show documents the craze of football from all across the globe. Perfect timing too, as the FIFA World Cup kicked off only recently.

The show looks for the best street soccer players who will then play against one another to find the best amateur players. Every Street United also features Football legends Thierry Henry and Edgar Davids. “Eight unknown players will win the chance to prove their skills to Rio – and to the World. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for them, and your ticket to experience the ultimate street soccer showdown.”, the website describes.

Microsoft joins the league of streaming services like Netflix that produce shows as well (for instance, Netflix produces Orange is the new Black). Though, with its own show, the company is aiming to differentiate itself from other gaming platforms.

Both Xbox One and Xbox 360 users will be able to stream the show onto their consoles. In addition, Windows PC, Windows Phone, and even web users will also be able to access the show through Xbox Video, though, not all contents will be made available to them.

Every Street United is the first of a dozen shows — part of the Xbox Original program and is being developed by Xbox Entertainment Studios — that Microsoft has planned to release on Xbox. These shows will include documentaries, reality shows, drama, and comedy series. The other shows will hit the console later this year.
