The official Twitter account for Microsoft’s Beam streaming video service has revealed that a big announcement will be coming on Thursday this week. “Big news for Beam coming this Thursday! Stay tuned…” the tweet reads.

Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra retweeted the tweet and added “BIG news!” It’s unclear what this news could be but possibilities include adding support for 4K video streaming, a partnership with a game studio or technology company, an official app for Windows phones, or even some new monetization option for streamers to help it compete with Twitch.
