Microsoft Teams has just received a new update that makes it easier for users to add the Whiteboard app right into their channels. Product Manager for Education Mike Tholfsen yesterday tweeted that the feature is now generally available in Microsoft Teams.

The new Whiteboard integration brings the ability for users to add Microsoft Whiteboard as a tab app inside Teams channels. Thanks to this latest addition, commercial and education customers can now pin a Whiteboard to any channel. Users will be able to open the Microsoft Whiteboard app on a PC, Mac, iPad and make it read-only or collaborative for other participants.

To get started, head to the Add a tab icon “+” available at the top of the Teams channel, and search Whiteboard. Click on the app, choose a name for your Whiteboard, and confirm the action by clicking the save button. A prompt will now ask if you want to present or collaborate on the new Whiteboard, choose your specific option, and click the “Present Whiteboard” button.

Microsoft Whiteboard an application designed to let people collaborate by drawing and refining ideas on a digital canvas, and it’s available across Windows 10, the web, iOS, as well as within Microsoft Teams. This new capability should help both presenters and teachers collaborate easily on group projects in Teams.
