U.S. Bank has announced a new deal with Microsoft to help modernize and boost its technology. Under the partnership, Azure has been chosen as the primary cloud provider for U.S. Bank applications.
U.S. Bank believes that this new partnership can help modernize how it works in an increasingly digital world. This includes helping the bank analyze data and “scaling innovative products to customers and partners.” There’s also the goal of helping develop new growth opportunities, as well as improving the security of data, financial assets, and adding to customer privacy. In the words of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella:
“More than ever, every financial services organization will need to build its own digital capability to meet both evolving customer demands and changing employee expectations. As U.S. Bank’s primary cloud provider, we will apply the power of Azure to help the company adapt and build new, secure experiences for customers and employees in the era ahead.”
For U.S. Bank customers, the partnership opens the gates for more tools that can improve banking experiences. Bigger partners, meanwhile, should get better digital experiences, APIs, and access to real-time data. As for business customers, look out for more ways to generate invoices and to send and receive payments.
Inside U.S. Bank, employees have already begun embracing Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams. However, U.S. Bank will still use multiple public cloud providers for redundancy, too.
