Microsoft has released an update to the SkyDrive app for Windows 8, allowing the service to provide a live tile notifications on your Windows 8 Start Screen. Now, you can see new files added to your SkyDrive as well as relevant details.
“Starting today, the SkyDrive app from the Windows Store will start showing you notifications on the live tile when you add new files to your SkyDrive. Now the tile for the SkyDrive app will be useful for more than just launching the app, by providing at-a-glance info on what’s going on in your SkyDrive,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post. For example, if you added a new gallery of photos from your recent vacation, those photos would show up on the live tile, similar to the Photos app.
Microsoft believes that this feature will enhance your Start Screen and make it feel more personal than ever. Microsoft is rolling out this new feature over the next day.
