Today, Microsoft Translator added six new Austronesian languages to its text translation API. The languages are Fijian, Filipino, Malagasy, Samoan, Tahitian and Tongan. What are Austronesian languages, you ask? These languages are spoken from as far west as Madagascar and as far east as the Polynesian Islands; north to South China and south to New Zealand.
With about 119 million Austronesian speakers around the world, they can now use Microsoft Translator on Bing, SharePoint, Cortana, Edge and Yammer. In addition, Microsoft Translator has apps available on other platforms, including Windows 10 PC, Windows 10 Mobile, Android (Android Wear and Amazon Kindle tablets), and iOS; iPhone and Apple Watch).
Microsoft Translator is available as a web widget to allow free translation services on almost any website. Through the free, open-source Document Translator app, you can translate one or more documents is available. Document Translator keeps the document’s original formatting and also supports Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF file formats.
The Skype Windows desktop app and Skype Preview for Windows 10 also have support for these Austronesian languages available in instant messaging. Many other Microsoft Translator apps are available on other platforms.
