Microsoft to launch ChatGPT-4 next week

Microsoft has remained at the forefront of Artificial Intelligence technology, and it looks like that trend is continuing with the imminent release of ChatGPT 4, the language module that powers the popular AI tool ChatGPT. The update is expected to be released by the technology giant sometime next week, potentially reigniting interest in the much-talked-about AI tool.

Microsoft Germany CTO Andreas Braun announced at an AI kickoff event that the new ChatGPT 4 language model would introduce “multimodal models,” which will offer new possibilities. As cited by Heise, Braun specified that the model would have the capacity to create AI-generated videos based on textual prompts. “We will introduce GPT-4 next week … we will have multimodal models that will offer completely different possibilities — for example, videos,” he asserted.

The technologist highlighted the potential of Large Language Models such as GPT, deeming it a “game changer” due to its capacity to comprehend “natural language” and deliver conversational responses. GPT-4 could likely be utilized to enhance ChatGPT and Microsoft services powered by Bing AI, as we had already reported last month.

At present, ChatGPT is restricted to responding to user queries in text format. However, an upcoming update is expected to bring a new interactive experience. Also, the report from Heise indicates that “multimodal AI” such as GPT-4 could actually surpass standard text-to-image translation and be utilized to create music and videos with minimal input.

Microsoft has yet to further affirm the unveiling of GPT-4 next week, though the company is planning a virtual gathering concerning the “Future of Work Reinventing Productivity with AI” with CEO Satya Nadella on March 16.

Currently, there is no confirmed information on what ChatGPT-4 can offer, however, we will keep you in the loop should any information become available. In the meantime, please feel free to share your opinions in the comment section below.
