Microsoft Teams app updates on iOS and Android with heaps of new features and fixes

Both the iOS and Android versions of Microsoft Teams updated today with a variety of changes. The iOS app added new support background blurring in calls and live captions while the Android version picked up the ability to opt out of calls.

Both apps got added support for group tags and improvements for notifications and meetings in addition to the usual minor bug fixes.

Here’s the release notes for the iOS app update:

  • Create tags to @mention a specific group of people. On a team name, tap … > “Manage tags” to make a tag.
  • Blur your background in calls and meetings
  • Turn on live captions during a meeting or group call
  • View shared content when you join a meeting via a cellular phone call
  • Notification reliability improvements
  • Meeting join reliability improvements
  • Bug fixes and performance improvements

Here’s the release notes for the Android app update:
