Microsoft Teams app updates on Android with new live captions feature for meetings

The official Microsoft Teams app updated to Version 1416/1.0.0.2020022503 today on Android smartphones and tablets.

This update a number of new features to enhance the call experience with hold music now being available and the ability to view live captions during a meeting.

Here’s the full release notes:

  • Turn on live captions during a meeting or group call
  • View shared content when you join a meeting via a cellular phone call
  • PSTN callers will hear music while they are on hold
  • Bug fixes and performance improvements

Microsoft Teams is a collaboration app designed for organizations and groups to improve efficiency and communication amongst team members. The service gained a lot of attention earlier today when Microsoft began touting it as a valuable tool for employees working remotely during the corona virus outbreak.
