Surface RT

The Surface RT, first launched in the US, Canada, China, and several other countries last October, has finally launched in Japan with a starting price of 49,800 Yen for the 32GB model ($518).

The 64GB model runs for 57,800 Yen, which is just a tad bit over $600 for those of you curious what the dollar amount was. The Surface RT in Japan is exactly the same as the device released in the USA. It comes with Office 2013 RT, 10.6 inch display (1366 by 768px), NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core CPU, and 2GB RAM. So if you are in Japan, this is obviously great news for those who have been waiting to snag a Surface RT device. There are no details on exactly which stores in Japan carry the Surface RT, so if you happen to see the device at a Japanese store near you, let us know which store it is in the comments below!
