Microsoft announces availability of Surface Hub 2S in India

Microsoft has launched the Surface Hub 2S in India, first unveiled in the US in April last year.

Surface Hub 2S is an all-in-one collaboration device that offers a digital whiteboard and a meeting platform for the modern workplace. It is the second generation of the interactive whiteboard developed and marketed by Microsoft, as part of the Microsoft Surface family

The Surface Hub 2S runs a variant of Windows 10 Enterprise, dubbed as Windows 10 Team and packs in the power of Windows 10, Microsoft Teams, Office 365, Microsoft Whiteboard, and the intelligent cloud for shared, collaborative interface in a team huddle or a staff meeting.

The Hub’s welcome screen has three buttons – Call (Microsoft Teams), Whiteboard (Microsoft Whiteboard), and Connect (Miracast) to get started immediately and seamlessly.

It has the flexibility to be mounted on a wall or it can be put on a roller stand. Microsoft has worked with Steelcase to design Steelcase Roam, a mobile stand and easy-to-hang wall mounting system. It can be moved easily with one hand, and its small footprint fits in all kinds of spaces. There’s also the APC Charge Mobile Battery that can be housed on the Steelcase Roam allowing the Hub 2S to work unplugged and on battery power for roughly two hours. The mobile battery will be available at a later date though.

The Surface Hub 2S is priced at ₹11,89,999 ($15,708) in India and is available via authorized sellers. It includes a Surface Hub 2 Camera and a Surface Hub 2 Pen. Additionally, the Steelcase Roam mobile stand is priced at ₹1,17,500.
