Microsoft Store offers $100 discount on the original Surface Pro, $699 for the 64GB model – onmsft.com

Microsoft's first-gen Surface Pro

After recently launching the new Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 device, Microsoft is offering a $100 discount for those who wish to purchase the first-generation Surface Pro. With the $100 discount, you can snag the 64GB Surface Pro model for $699 or the 128GB model for $799. The Surface Pro 256GB can also be purchased for a discounted price of $999.

While Microsoft is pushing the new Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2, along with the original Surface (formerly known as Surface RT), Microsoft seemingly dropped the Surface Pro out of the lineup. However, the Surface Pro is still available for purchase on Microsoft’s online store. Microsoft is obviously offering the $100 incentive to clear out inventory of the Surface Pro.

This offer began on the 22nd of October and ends on the 31st of December. “Available in select Microsoft retail and online stores in US (including Puerto Rico) and Canada. Offer only valid for Surface Pro; excludes all other Surface devices. Not valid on prior orders or purchases; cannot be transferred or otherwise redeemed for cash or gift cards. Combinable with qualifying Touch Cover discount offer. Limited inventory available,” the Microsoft Store states.

The Surface Pro features Windows 8 Pro, which can be upgradable to the recently released Windows 8.1 update. The device features a 3rd generation Intel Core i5 Processor with Intel HD Graphics 4000, 4GB RAM, 10.6″ ClearType HD Display with a screen resolution of 1920×1080, as well as two 720p HD cameras (front and rear).

“As part of the Microsoft retail store strategy, we often run promotions or special offers for limited periods of time. The current Surface Pro offer is an example of this type of promotion and is available at the Microsoft retail stores and online at Microsoftstore.com through December 31 or until supplies last,” Microsoft told us.

The last time the Surface Pro received a price cut was back in early August, when the Surface Pro 64GB was lowered to $799. The 128GB model was also $899 at the time.

This $100 discount is great for those who wish to snag the original Surface Pro at a cheaper price but don’t want to spend too much money on the newer generation Surface Pro 2. Hit the VIA link below to purchase the discounted Surface Pro.
