In August, we reported that Microsoft is working on a simplified notifications experience, allowing users to configure and customize their notification settings easily. The revamped Notification Settings page has begun rolling out for users running the desktop and web version of Microsoft Teams, according to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap.

The newly designed notifications settings section brings many customization options, such as Email, Sound, Teams and channel, Chat, Meetings, People, and Others. Interestingly, one of the major highlights of this release is the new Teams and channel section. It allows users to choose from any two teams and channel notification presets, including “All activity” and “Mentions and replies”.

Moreover, there’s also a “Custom” preset to lets users customize their channel notification settings. On this front, there are a few additional options on the new “Custom” page, which can be used by users to fine-tune to their specific requirements. That includes Personal @mentions, Team mentions, Likes and reactions, and more.

While the redesigned notifications experience isn’t a major feature, it provides a quick and easy way for users to manage your channels, teams, and notification settings. To access new Teams notifications settings, click on your profile picture and then head to Settings > Notifications. Remember that you need to update to the latest version of the desktop client to get these improvements.
