Microsoft sells 258,000 Xbox One units in the US for the month of February 2014

Great news for Microsoft as the company has revealed that 258,000 Xbox One units were sold during the month of February 2014 in the United States (US). In fact, at the same point in time, Xbox One sales have surpassed Xbox 360 sales by over 61%.

According to new data from NPD, the Xbox One continues to see impressive software sales with an average of 2.75 games sold per console and 772,000 Xbox One games sold in February. The Xbox 360, on the other hand, continues to grow its user base with 114,000 units sold in February and 2.46 million games sold during the same time frame.

“It’s been a big month for Xbox One, with the launch of a significant system update with improved matchmaking, party chat and friends features that make gaming on Xbox One an experience like no other, and the launch of Twitch and “Titanfall.” Xbox One is available in 13 markets around the world, with many more coming this year,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.

Here are the top Xbox One game titles for the month of February: “NBA 2K14,” “Battlefield 4,” and “Thief,” “Call of Duty: Ghosts,” and “Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare.” Here are the top Xbox 360 game titles for the month of February: “NBA 2K14,” “Call of Duty: Ghosts,” “Fable Anniversary,” “Grand Theft Auto V,” “Minecraft,” and “The LEGO Movie Videogame.”

Microsoft plans to launch Titanfall on the Xbox 360 on March 25th. Both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 have sold more hardware than any other home console platform and account for 43% of the home console market share in the US.
