Microsoft sees increased momentum: 400M active Outlook.com users, 250M OneDrive users, and more

During Computex 2014 in Taiwan, Microsoft’s Tony Prophet took the stage to talk about the value of Microsoft cloud services across devices. Prophet also shared the latest figures showcasing increased momentum for various company products and services.

Prophet stated that there are two billion Skype minutes used per day. There are also 4.4 million Office 365 Home subscribers and 400 million active Outlook.com users. OneDrive has also seen increased momentum with 250 million users. In the gaming and entertainment front, Xbox Live accounts for 48 million members. Prophet also stated that Bing now accounts for 18 percent of the US search market.

To put things in perspective, Microsoft stated, as of April 2014, that there were 3.5 million Office 365 Home subscribers and growing. Clearly it grew in just a few short weeks. Outlook.com has over 400 million active users and is touted by Microsoft as the world’s fastest-growing email service. Xbox Live has over 48 million members in 41 countries.

According to Microsoft, 1.3 billion people use Windows every day. Microsoft has yet to provide us with an updated app count for the Windows Phone Store or the Windows Store, but so far we know there are over 250 thousand apps in the Windows Phone Store and over 164 thousand apps in the Windows Store.
