Microsoft Rolls Out Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 For Lumia 930 Owners – onmsft.com

Lumia 930

Microsoft is rolling out the Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 for the Lumia 930, bumping it to build 14157 which is believed to be ‘Update 1’ — the build was spotted in one of Windows 8.1 Update 1 previews. Microsoft mentioned it’s a minor update, which brings a few new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.

Along with the usual stability and performance improvements, the update introduces a number of notable enhancements if you ask me. It introduces Cortana support for the Lumia 930 in the UK and China, along with the ability to create folders on the Start screen, a much needed feature. All you have to do is pick up an app and drop it over another app to create a folder.

Here’s a list of changes introduced in the latest build:

  • Improved stability & performance.
  • Imaging enhancements.
  • Enriched display performance.
  • Cortana support added for UK and China.
  • Start screen folders, customizable snooze for alarm clock and other usability improvements.

If you’re a proud owner of the Lumia 930, now might be a good time to check for the update. It’s also worth mentioning this is the Lumia Cyan update, not the Denim one which was released with the Lumia 730/830. If it’s not there, don’t panic since the update can take a few days to reach all devices. You can manually check for the update from Settings if you can’t wait.

Thank you everyone for the tips!!
