Microsoft has announced the availability of the new Sculpt Comfort Mouse and Sculpt Mobile Mouse, both featuring a Windows Start button on the side. This will be the first set of mice to feature a Start button on it.
The new Sculpt Comfort Mouse features a touch-sensitive blue strip on the side of the mouse called the “Windows touch tab”, which is pretty much a Windows button. Clicking it or swiping your finger alongside it will take you to the Windows 8 Start Screen, similar to the functionality of the Win key on a keyboard.
Not only that, but the mouse also cycles through all of your open apps if you swipe up on the blue strip. Swiping down on the blue strip will reveal all the open apps on the left side of your screen so you can choose which app to switch to. Using Bluetooth as its means of connecting to your device, the mouse features Microsoft’s BlueTrack technology as well as a cool and simple design.
The new Sculpt Mobile Mouse is similar to the Comfort Mouse and features four-way scrolling via the scroll wheel. The mouse also features a compact design, a tiny USB transceiver, and BlueTrack technology.
The Sculpt Comfort Mouse will be available in June for $39.95, while the Sculpt Mobile Mouse will be available later this month for $29.95.
