Microsoft’s ID@Xbox Developer Accelerator Program recently brought forth the latest news about the sales performance of the Xbox Series X|S consoles. According to a slide from the event tweeted by a user, the combined sales of the Xbox Series X|S have impressively surpassed the 21 million unit milestone. Adding to this achievement, Microsoft has also sold a total of 79 million consoles when considering the Xbox One as well.

Of particular interest is the fact that nearly half of the Xbox Series S owners, specifically 48%, are new to the Xbox ecosystem. This influx of new users highlights the appeal and attractiveness of the Series S, contributing to its growing popularity. Notably, the Xbox platform has experienced a substantial increase in monthly users, with approximately 15.6 million active users per month. This figure represents a noteworthy 20% growth compared to the previous year.

Beyond the console market, Microsoft’s presence in the PC gaming arena is equally significant. Currently, there are an impressive 248.6 million active Windows gaming PCs, demonstrating the strong foothold Microsoft has in this domain. Additionally, the Windows Store attracts a substantial number of visitors, with approximately 168.3 million individuals exploring the store on a monthly basis. Moreover, the number of paid unique users has witnessed a year-on-year growth of 3%, indicating a steady increase in user engagement.

Microsoft’s popular subscription service, Game Pass, continues to enhance the gaming experience for its users. Game Pass boasts an extensive library of over 400 console games and more than 300 PC games. These offerings appeal to a wide international audience, with the majority of the games originating from the United States, Brazil, and Mexico.

In another development, a slide presented during the event hinted at the introduction of in-game advertising on the Xbox platform in the near future. This potential addition suggests that Microsoft is exploring new avenues to enhance the gaming experience and provide additional opportunities for developers and advertisers to connect with the Xbox community.
