Microsoft rename community project Connect to Lumia Voices

Microsoft Connects, a community program started by Nokia to allow people to try some of their latest tech and originally called Nokia Connects, has just been renamed to Lumia Voices. According to Microsoft, it’s over nine years old and has tens upon thousands of fans across the globe, and has expanded “beyond our wildest dreams”.

While giving people the opportunity to try some of the latest and greatest tech is the main purpose of the program, there’s actually more to it than that. They also host great events and showcase some of the community’s expertise on their social media channels.

From now on, Connects will now be known as Lumia Voices. So why the rename to Lumia Voices? According to Bosola Ajenifuja, Microsoft’s Global Advocacy Manager,

“We really wanted a name that stood for what the program is truly about, which is the voice and spirit of our community. For us the program is about getting the devices into the hands of people who have stories to tell, and supporting those stories through the technology we can provide.”

Of course, the whole program is great for Microsoft because of the great feedback people give about the new devices. Microsoft says it’s inspirational because of the awesome things that people do with their devices and how the whole community supports it’s members to do great things.
