Microsoft has just announced a new build incoming for Windows 11 Insiders in the Release Preview Channel. The new build, announced as 22621.1192, adds a couple of interesting changes. The first isn’t really a “feature,” but a customer experience improvement when downloading and installing new builds:
Starting this month, when customers upgrade to Windows 11, version 22H2, they will get the January optional quality update (KB5022360) and the .NET update alongside the Feature Update. This means when you upgrade to Windows 11, version 22H2 you will get the feature update with the latest and greatest security fixes for both Windows and .NET– all with only a single reboot!
The build also puts future .Net Framework preview updates on the “Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates” page. From there, you’ll be able to control which of the optional updates you want to install.
In addition, build 22621.1192 includes fixes for issues affecting searchindexer.exe, searches based on a file’s content, the DNS suffix search list, applications that use Microsoft Edge WebView2, the Group Policy for Expanded Toasts, and more. Be sure to check out the Windows Insider blog post for all the details.
