Microsoft Visio

A few weeks ago, Microsoft introduced a beta version of its Visio diagramming tool for the iPad, promising at the same time a public version of Visio Online for any business user accessing the web. Today, Microsoft has made good on its promise, making publicly available a new preview of Visio that can view and share diagrams using nothing but a browser.

In order to use the Visio Online preview, you’ll need to be an Office 365 business customer, using OneDrive for Business, or sporting a SharePoint Online plan. Here are all of the subscriptions that can access Visio Online:

  • Office 365 Business Essentials
  • Office 365 Business Premium
  • Office 365 Enterprise E1
  • Office 365 Government E1
  • Office 365 Enterprise K1
  • Office 365 Government K1
  • OneDrive for Business Plan 1
  • OneDrive for Business Plan 2
  • SharePoint Online Plan 1

As with Visio for iPad, the Online version is primary intended for viewing documents. The idea is to provide as faithful a representation of diagrams as possible to enable accessing them on the go.
