Microsoft has released a minor update for PowerToys, its collection of utilities for power users looking to customize their Windows PCs. This release brings a few bug fixes that were “deemed important for stability.” These issues include FancyZones crashes and a bug that caused older plugins to fail to update properly.

Here’s the full list of improvements and fixes in PowerToys version 0.51.1:

  • #13214 – FZ losing layouts due to VirtualDesktopManager init
  • #14701– PT Run due to duplicate older plugins

Last week, PowerToys was updated to version 0.51 and received improvements to the Color Picker, Image Resizer, FancyZones, PowerToys Run, and Image Resizer tools. Moreover, this release also added a new mouse highlighter tool for presentations.

If you are interested in trying out PowerToys on Windows 10 or 11, you can download the version 0.51.1 update from the GitHub page. Meanwhile, existing PowerToys users will need to click on “Check for updates” to download the latest update manually.
